ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Firework sales arrived, but the prices could surprise some at the register.

Justine Gourley is the manager at Pyrozone Fireworks.

"All of the fireworks are a five percent increase with a 12 percent total, which is less than some other states but still very high," said. Gourley. "It is a very high tax."

When the law was created last year an additional five percent excise tax was added.

For those who tried to find bigger fireworks, the law says ones that have aerial effects or explode can only be sold in buildings, not in small tents.
