LAKE BLACKSHEAR, GA (WALB) -

It's peak boating season, and people are taking full advantage of Lake Blackshear.

The Department of Natural Resources is urging you to be cautious if your day on the lake involves alcohol.

According to officials, there have only been three boating under the influence incidents this year, which is less than the past few years.

Operation Drywater, a nationwide campaign for sober boating, was this past weekend.

Rangers from the DNR made routine checks and found everyone boating was following the rules.

"We are out here a lot of times on the weekends and many times during the week, so we do heavy law enforcement patrol and officers are out here so that keeps things pretty quiet and everyone knows that we are out here," said Ranger Jesse Harrison.
