ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Community leaders say HIV is growing problem in Dougherty County.
There is no exact number, but leaders say they're seeing more people testing positive.
District HIV Coordinator Elijah Miranda and his team created a task force of community organizations, including schools and hospitals, to fight the problem.
Miranda says education is key.
"Part of the initiative in getting this task force together is incorporating the school board to talk about how to incorporate education at an earlier age in the schools," said Miranda.
Leaders teamed up with Walgreens to do free testing and will offer more on Saturday.
