CAIRO, GA (WALB) - A South Georgia animal rescue center is closing its doors at the end of the month.
Second Chance Animal Rescue in Cairo said they are struggling to make ends meet.
With high electric bills and a deteriorating building, they can no long operate the shelter.
Their most important concern is the dogs and getting homes for all 20 of them.
"I barely got sleep last night because I'm up trying to think of multiple different ways of getting them homes. Trying to find them different rescues to go to," said Caitlyn Logue, Volunteer
The shelter has a gofundme page and is currently accepting donations towards a new facility for the future.
Second Chance posts all of it's available dogs on their Facebook page.
