ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Middle school students from Jacksonville, Florida visited senior citizens in Albany Thursday.

Beach United Methodist Church is teaming up with Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful for an annual mission trip this week.

Thursday afternoon they visited Phoebe Senior Living. 33 middle schoolers played bingo, sang and mingled with the senior citizens.

"We learn that people in other areas are different," said 13-year-old Dillon Russ. "But we all are children of God and we can point anyone towards Christ if we put our minds to it."

This is the 9th straight year the church has made a trip to Albany to take part in various volunteer projects here.
