BLAKELY, GA (WALB) -

One of the dogs at the Friends of Blakely Animal Shelter has come down with parvovirus.

He's been treated, but the vet bill was $400.

The virus spreads very quickly.

The other dogs at the shelter are at high risk, but the shelter will not have enough money to pay to treat these dogs.

Debbie McDonald is a volunteer at the shelter.

"Parvo is very expensive to treat. If anybody has had a dog with Parvo, they know what I'm talking about. It's at least several hundred dollars to treat. But we are determined to get these dogs healthy and save them so that's what we are doing, said McDonald."

To help, you can donate to their Gofundme page or message them on Facebook at Friends of Blakely Animal Shelter.
