Arrest warrant issued in Dougherty Co. shooting

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dougherty County officials have issued an arrest warrant for Randy Ty'Kesion Lee, 18, for his involvement in a shooting and attempted armed robbery on June 3.

The charges include two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of criminal attempt of armed robbery, and possession of a firearm.

According to a Dougherty County Police shift report, two robbers attempted to rob the clerk at gunpoint at the Fast Lane Food Mart in the 3000 block of Sylvester Road just after 1:30 a.m. on June 3. One robber fired and shot the clerk in the leg.

One bullet hit Parks in the leg, another hit his car behind him. Even though he was wounded, Parks fired six shots back at the robber.

Lee is being held in Colquitt Co. jail for theft by receiving stolen property and other charges.

"The only way we can stop crime in Albany is when the public works hand in hand with us.  Like I said before, this tip has led to this first arrest and we hope maybe a tip will lead to the second arrest," said Captain Tom Jackson with the Dougherty County Police.

Lee told doctors that he was walking down a road when he was shot.

He was already in the Colquitt County jail on theft by receiving and other charges when Dougherty County Police issued arrest warrants for the shootout.

Parks has recovered from the incident.

Police are still searching for the other person involved in the shooting.

Anyone with information is urged to call the authorities.
