LEE CO., GA (WALB) - As of Monday night, a jury has yet to be selected as the trial of a professional boxer accused of killing his wife gets underway.
Yathomas Riley has been in jail since July 10, the day his wife Lisa was found shot to death on their bedroom floor.
Prosecutors said that Riley shot his wife and staged it to look like a suicide.
Riley said he walked in and found his wife dead.
Prosecutors and Riley's defense continued to interview potential jurors in the case, and officials said it could take into Tuesday afternoon to get that done.
Last week in a pre-trial hearing, Riley's attorney told the judge that an insanity defense was his only defense.
He said that the evidence is too tough to fight.
Riley, though, doesn't want an insanity defense and berated his attorney in open court.
He's also proclaimed his innocence in other hearings.
Opening statements are expected to be given on Tuesday and the trial is expected to last longer than a week.
