Prison guard arrested for drug trafficking

MONTEZUMA, GA - The Montezuma Police Department made a traffic stop this weekend, and they arrested a law enforcement official.

Demarcus Deon Woolfork, 25, of Montezuma, is an employee of Macon State Prison.

Woolfork is charged with Trafficking of Methamphetamine (Ice) and Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.

Over 87 grams were seized from his vehicle on the traffic stop and over 57 grams of Methamphetamine (ice) from his home.

They also confiscated several Paypal cards and cell phones.

"We are working closely with the Warden at Macon State Prison to determine who was working with Woolfork,"  said Montezuma Police Chief Eric Finch. "This was just great police work by Officers Jason Bolden and Michael Ragsdale. Collecting the Paypal cards and cellular phones will allow us to see who was assisting Woolfork."

The Macon County Sheriff's Department assisted with the search at Woolfork's residence. This case is being turned over to Federal Authorities.

Woolfork is at the Macon County Jail.
