Crisp Co. experiences severe damage after storms

CRISP CO., GA (WALB) -

Some of the worst storm damage of Friday evening was reported from several areas in Crisp County.

A home was damaged on 19th Avenue when a tree fell on it.

There were also reports that a mobile home was destroyed near the intersection of Crisp Street and Church Street.There is other damage near Crisp Regional Hospital.

"As you can see there is a limb there that fell down. My car was actually parked there beforehand," said storm victim Tia Crumley. "I decided to move it and had to go somewhere so I'm lucky."

Georgia Power has been working to get the power back on for some residents in Cuthbert.

A strong storm blew through town around 6 p.m. knocking down multiple trees.

Several houses sustained minor damage and some roads were blocked. Dime-sized hail was also reported.

Thankfully, no one was hurt. Damage reports are still being checked.
