Turner County's Mylashia Yancey signed her letter of intent to Pensacola State College in front of teammates family and her coaches.
The signing comes just weeks following the Lady Rebels retiring her number 15 jersey and hanging her a banner in the turner county civic center. Yancey holds the school record with 2,271 points.
She also just wrapped up a senior campaign that saw her Lady rebels go 31-0 winning the single-A state championship.
The 5-8 guard said joining the Lady Pirates was a decision around familiarity.
"The coaching staff reminds me so much of my coaching staff," said Yancey. "And the players remind me of my players. They're nice, the city is big, you can do a lot there."
Yancey plans on studying sports medicine and preparing to make the leap to Division 1 basketball.
