Here we are again, a mass shooting, this one in Orlando. And once again, citizens across the country are stepping up to the plate to offer assistance.
Blood donors stood in line for hours in Orlando, answering the call to help the 50 plus victims who needed blood after this past weekend's tragedy.
Here in Southwest Georgia, the waiting room at Thomasville's OneBlood donation center was filled with people, many of them coming out to donate for the first time.
The center even opened Sunday, a day when their facility if usually closed, to offer the opportunity to donate blood.
In Valdosta, some of their blood donations will also go to help the victims in Orlando.
None of us want to hear of tragedies such as the Orlando mass shooting, but it is some comfort to know that when something like this happens, Americans will answer the call to help those in need.
