MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

The city of Moultrie welcomed a new city manager Monday night.

City council members voted and selected Peter Dillard as Moultrie's new manager.

Dillard is from Moultrie and has had several years of managing two local companies.

Mayor Bill McIntosh said he's pleased to have this important position filled.

"We feel that we need somebody who has the innate ability and the education to do what the job requires," said McIntosh.

Former city manager Mike Scott retired in April and Mike Stewart was serving as interim city manager.

Mayor McIntosh says Stewart will stick around to help Dillard with transitioning into the new role.
