THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) -

A blood donation center in Southwest Georgia is stepping up to help the victims in Orlando. The One Blood Center in Thomasville opened for several hours Sunday.

The center is located at 2705 E Pinetree Blvd.

Officials in Orlando are asking for O-positive, O-negative, and A-B blood types for the survivors in the shooting.

One person donating said this is an easy way to help people in need.

“One guy affected 103 people's families so far. Not only that, but an entire community of people and the biggest thing you can do is if you have money, donate money, if you've got blood, donate blood,” said AJ Kirkland.

A large number of people stopped by and donated blood Sunday. The center will be open Monday as well.
