LOWNDES CO., GA (WALB) - A woman was killed after being partially ejected during a single car wreck in Lowndes County around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
According to GSP, 61-year-old Nancy Berg was driving north on I-75 near mile marker 21 in Lowndes when she traveled off onto the east shoulder.
Berg overcorrected trying to get back onto the road, causing the car to spin and then flip multiple times. The vehicle landed on the passenger side in the right northbound lane of I-75.
Berg was wearing a seat belt but was partially ejected from the car and pronounced dead on the scene by Coroner Bill Watson.
Troopers are continuing to investigate what caused the vehicle to travel off the road, but do not suspect alcohol or drugs contributed to the accident.
No charges will be filed in this wreck.
