ALBANY, GA (WALB) - As the final four teams in the American Indoor Football League prepare for playoff games Saturday, leaders of Albany's team say they will be back next year.
The Georgia Firebirds went 4 and 5 in their first season.
Head Coach Antwone Savage says they have a good foundation, but to build on it next season they'll need more community support.
"The main thing we're going to need is sponsorship," said Antwone Savage, Firebirds Head Coach. "I keep stressing that because without sponsorship it's hard to get good players in here, quality players which helps us to win. I mean that's what people want to see. They want to see a winning product."
Savage says ticket prices will remain $10 next season.
He's also looking forward to bringing back some popular and talented players from the old Albany Panthers such as John Harris, Larry Edwards and Aaron Wheeler.
