LEE CO., GA (WALB) - A lot of gun owners are outraged by a ruling Thursday from a federal appeals court in California.
The ruling says the 2nd Amendment does not guarantee your right to carry concealed weapons in public.
Gun rights advocate Steven Drew with Loan and Gun Pawn in Lee County believes this is an attempt to re-interpret a part of the U.S. Constitution that is clear.
"To deny certain segments of the population the only thing that they can have to defend themselves while retaining or reserving that right for the government or law enforcement is completely wrong," said Steven Drew, Georgia Loan and Gun Pawn Owner. "It'll be struck down."
The panel also says law enforcement officials can require applicants for concealed weapons permits to show they are in immediate danger or otherwise have a good reason for a permit beyond self-defense.
