DAWSON, GA (WALB) -

A lot of folks in Dawson are shocked after their mayor was booked Wednesday on child sex charges.

Mayor Christopher Wright surrendered Wednesday after the grand jury indicted him on five charges.
Bryan Profit told WALB he thinks Wright is a good guy and he hates to see Wright in this position, but he hopes justice is served.

"Well I just hope that justice is served and that everything comes out better than what it is now,” said Bryan Profit, Dawson Resident. “So one day people can put this behind them and hopefully just move on."

Wright is out of jail after posting a $50,000 bond.
