ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany Police responded to the scene of an accident involving a pedestrian and two vehicles Saturday night. The incident happened on the 500 block of South Slappey Boulevard just after 9 p.m.

According to officials, 29-year-old Desmond Holmes left a gathering on West Gordon Avenue after drinking alcoholic drinks.

As Holmes attempted to cross South Slappey near Lincoln Avenue, a vehicle driving southbound slightly clipped and spun him around in the road. The driver yelled out the window to Holmes about being in the road, as he continued driving.

Afterward, a second vehicle struck Holmes with its front bumper, causing him to hit the windshield and get thrown several feet further down the road. The vehicle stopped at the scene after striking Holmes.

Holmes was taken by EMS to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital with serious head injuries.

More information will be available, as the investigation is ongoing.
