ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
The work of dozens of artists is now on display in Albany.
The 17th annual Southwest Georgia Regional Fine Art Exhibition and Sale opened Thursday night at Thronateeska Heritage Center. 47 artists entered 94 pieces. Some of the winners included fine art and photography students from Albany State and Darton State College. Albany Area Arts Council leaders say it's a great way to show off local talent and bring people downtown.
"It's a great way to get people into the museum who maybe haven't been here in years and it is a wonderful way to bring people downtown Albany and it gives us an opportunity to work with one of our member organizations,” said Nicole Williams, Executive Director.
Winners got cash prizes of up to 250-dollars. Here are the list of winners:
