ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The new Flamingo Exhibit at Chehaw Park is one step closer to being finished.
Park officials say it's been a 5 year process.
Workers have put in concrete and a pool.
They're still working on the wood building, wire mesh, artwork, and landscaping.
15 Flamingos that will go into the exhibit are currently in quarantine at the park.
Six others from another zoo will join them for breeding purposes.
"It's not going to be just an African Flamingo exhibit or an African bird exhibit," said Ben Roberts, Chehaw Zoological Manager. "We'll mix and match some of the continents to get a better variety of birds."
The exhibit should open by the end of Summer.
