ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The number one most wanted from CrimeSTOPPERS Street Sweep remains in jail without bond with nearly a dozen charges against him by many South Georgia law enforcement agencies.
Gregory Florence was charged with stealing nearly $100,000 of equipment from about a half dozen businesses and selling them in a scam operation.
Florence was arrested late Thursday night by Dougherty County Police during a traffic stop in East Albany after community tips led officers to the area where he was believed to be staying.
"During that time period we were lucky enough to receive some tips and some information and we followed up on, and it led to his arrest that night," said Dougherty County Police Captain Tom Jackson.
Dougherty County Police said they have about a dozen charges of theft against Florence already, and more could be added.
