Tifton veteran reminds kids the true meaning of Memorial Day

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

An area restaurant manager who is also a veteran is teaching kids the true meaning of Memorial Day.

Wildean Easters-McClelland read "America's White Table" by Margot Theis Raven Monday night at Wendy's in Tifton.
The Army veteran has done this the last three Memorial Days.
 She want's kids to know the symbolic meaning of the white table.

“It's so that the kids will know Memorial Day is not about a BBQ it is to commemorate and to honor those who went to war so that we can be free but didn't make it home,” said Wildean Easters-McClelland, Wendy’s Co-Manager.

The white table is set everyday at Wendy's on 20th Street in Tifton to help make veterans feel special and appreciated.
