ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A woman sold makeup in an effort to raise money for sexual abuse victims. Kawambee Dorsey teamed up with the Lilly Pad for the special sale event today.

The event also highlighted local businesses. Makeup, necklaces, and other goods for women were on sale.

Dorsey said having the event and linking it up with a good cause went hand in hand.

“My thing is, if you're going to do something, do it with a benefit. Do it with a cause. Do it for a cause and help somebody else. So for the lily pad, we chose them because it's for sexually abused women and their children,” said Dorsey.

Dorsey said this isn't the first event like this. The sale lasted all day downtown Saturday. All proceeds went to the Lilly Pad foundation.
