ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany's American Legion Post 30 is looking for volunteers to help remember fallen troops.

They need help to set up the field of crosses in front of the Albany Mall Saturday morning.

Each of the 146 crosses represents a veteran from Dougherty County or Lee County who died in combat since World War I.

"We can use all of the volunteers that's willing to show up. Sometimes it feels like we get too many but everybody that shows up and likes to participate to help us build this memorial over the Memorial Day weekend," said Marvin Mixon with the American Legion Post 30.

Volunteers need to meet at the Albany Mall at 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m.

Volunteers can also help take down the crosses Tuesday at 8 a.m.
