ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

After a second arson fire, the Albany Fire Department warned residents in an East Albany neighborhood to be on the lookout for vagrants in vacant mobile homes.

A mobile home in the 200 block of Cordele Road burned around 3:30 Monday morning.

Fire investigators said it was obvious vagrants had been living inside.

They were using a water meter cover as a step up into the back door.

Investigators said this fire is similar to one two weeks earlier in the same trailer park.

Because the mobile homes are close together these fires could spread quickly.

"People live in some of the adjacent trailers, and thus we could harm someone by their action of setting fires in these trailer," said Investigator Sam Harris of Albany Fire Department.

If you see suspicious activity around vacant homes call CrimeSTOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
