ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Every year Team Elite South opens up their summer play with TES weekend at Paul Eames park..

2016 was no exception..

Players from all over the southeast region gathered to develop their skills, and prepare for the summer season.

The team's goal is to train and develop baseball players to preform at a collegiate or professional level.

"We start that process at 12-years-old," said the team's director of player development. "We're pretty firm on our guys. we have a pretty high expectation, hold them very accountable. And that training start very early then by the time they're 16 year-old they can most of the time enjoy the recruiting process."

In the past two years, Team Elite South has had 52 players commit to play college baseball, and eight of them to power conference schools.
