RANDOLPH CO., GA (WALB) -

Another candidate has come forward in the race for the Randolph County sheriff.

Harold Piper, who has lived in Randolph County for 13 years, showed his confidence to lead with plenty of experience from the Polk County Sheriff's Office in Florida.

Piper said that he plans to make a difference from his previous work, and his love for the job.

"Every law enforcement officer that ever put on a badge has said the reason they did it is because they felt like they could make a difference. That's the way I feel now," said Piper. "With the experience I obtained from supervising a great number of investigative units, I knew I could make a difference here in Randolph county."

Piper added that he has 25 years of experience and nearly 17 of those years supervising a handful of detectives and sergeants.
