ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany home will now serve as a part of history that will be remembered for years to come.
A historical marker was unveiled Thursday outside of Former Georgia Governor George Busbee's home.
Busbee and his family lived in this home on West Third Avenue.
Bo Johnson worked to renovate this home for the last two years and is proud to be a part of this labor of love.
"His impact on this city was immeasurable and we need to remember that and we need to treasure his memory and remember where he lived when he was an Albainian", said Johnson.
The project is a joint effort between Georgia Historical Society, Albany Doughetry Historic Preservation Commission, and Thronateeska Heritage Center.
