NAYLOR, GA (WALB) - A Lowndes Co. deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding on U.S. Highway 84 at Highway 135 near Naylor, over the weekend, and saw the driver toss something under a car.

As the deputy spoke with the driver, Jerod Holden, he saw Holden toss another object under the deputy's car. The deputy detained both Holden and his passenger, Christopher Jenkins.

The deputy found that Holden, 30, had thrown a plastic bag containing several individual bags of cocaine. Another bag contained 195 Xanax pills. Authorities searched the car and found several individual bags of Methamphetamine and a small quantity of marijuana.

Jerod Holden and Christopher Jenkins were arrested. Christopher Jenkins, 31, has been released on bond and Holden remains in the Lowndes County Jail.

Both men are charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and numerous other charges.

"This was a fantastic job by the deputy, being alert to the situation developing in front of him, and to keep digging," said Lowndes Sheriff Chris Prine.
