Valdosta man arrested in Gangster Disciple investigation

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A Valdosta man has been indicted for his role in the Gangster Disciples.

32-year-old Jeremiah Covington, also known as, "Tre B" is one of many facing charges.

He and more than forty other people were charged in a federal investigation for conspiring to participate in racketeering.

According to the Department of Justice, Covington was a first coordinator of the Gangster Disciples in the Valdosta region.

Prosecutors said that the suspects have been involved in multiple murders, attempted murders and drug crimes.
