The "Hiring Our Heroes" welcomes all job seekers, but is primarily focused on helping unemployed veterans get jobs.
The event starts at 1:00 and runs until 4:00PM today, in the Depot, 212 E. Broad Street in Camilla.
The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) and the Mitchell County Neighborhood Service Center, a subsidiary of the Southwest Georgia Community Action Council, are co-sponsoring the event. Labor staff will be on-site to help screen applicants.
State labor officials say the career fair will focus on the employment needs of veterans and their families, but it is open to all job seekers, including those with disabilities.
Applicants are encouraged to bring a resume and dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for jobs.
Employers registered for the career fair include Albany Advocacy Resource Center (ARC), Ambassador Personnel, AT&T, Autry State Prison, Department of Community Affairs, Department of Juvenile Justice, Edward Jones Investments, Florida Highway Patrol, Flowers Foods, Labor Ready, Mitchell County Schools, Mitchell County Sheriff's Office, New Hire Solutions, Oil Dri, Spring Creek, Target, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
