ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Police department says a motorcycle ran into a car on Radium Springs Road, near Mitchell Avenue, causing serious injury.

Just after midnight, APD says a 2008 Suzuki GSX, driven by  Shannon Porter 42, of Albany, smashed into the side of a 2006 Toyota Corolla driven by Sacorien Carson, 19, of Albany.

Carson had two passengers, Shadeidra Henderson, 22, and  8 month old  Jaiden Henderson, who was transported to Phoebe Putney, and treated.

Porter was traveling north on Radium Springs Road, as Carson was traveling south. The Toyota began turning left onto Mitchell Avenue, and the motorcycle accelerated at a high rate of speed.

Porter struck the Toyota on the passenger’s side, and Porter was thrown off the motorcycle and received serious injuries.  He was unconscious, but breathing on scene.

The Toyota's occupants were transported to the Phoebe Emergency Center for treatment, and were released around 3:00AM.

Porter was kept in the hospital for treatment.  The investigation remains active.
