DECATUR CO., GA (WALB) - Troopers said Matthew Hilliard was the driver of a car that crossed the center lane of GA-97 in a three car wreck in Decatur County. The accident happened at about 11:53 p.m. Friday at mile marker 29.
According to troopers, Hilliard was driving a Camry and traveling north on GA 97. The second and third cars were traveling south.
Troopers said Hilliard traveled into the southbound lane of GA 97, causing it to hit the front of a Ford pickup truck.
Hilliard was killed in the accident.
The third car, a Honda Accord, swerved to avoid the accident and ended up driving into a ditch on GA 97.
After impact, the Camry traveled back into the northbound lane and came to a rest on the shoulder.
The truck went into a ditch, overturned, and came to a rest on its right side.
Brooke Tuggle, a passenger in the Camry, was sent to John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville for treatment of her injuries.
Charles Hall, the driver of the truck, was sent to Bainbridge Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Their injuries are unknown at this time.
No one in the third vehicle was injured. There is currently no word on any charges in the wreck.
