ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany economic development leaders hope the buyout of a local company that sells its products all over the world won't have a negative impact on its operations in the city.
SASCO Chemical was bought out by Polymer Solutions Group based in New York.
SASCO was a family-owned business started in Albany in 1948.
The company's website says its innovative products reshaped the rubber industry.
SASCO was reached out to multiple times, but they didn't comment on the sale.
EDC officials say they believe the buyout could lead to expansion in Albany.
