ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A bank is taking proactive steps to protect their customers from hackers.
Flint Community Bank recently teamed up with a company that allows customers to lock their debit card when they're not using it.
The bank president said their customers' security is of the utmost importance to them.
"Debit cards are a very efficient and good way to make purchases and use your checking account without writing a check but they also are a source of compromise," said Flint Community Bank President Scott Tomlinson.
Tomlinson said the lock feature is part of their main bank app. He said it makes it tough for hackers to get their customers' debit card information.
