ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Political Action Committee of the Albany Metro Area Pan Hellenic Council held a candidate forum downtown Thursday night.
All three candidates in the state House District 153 race were there.
First term incumbent Darrel Ealum talked about his part in getting state money to bring a new college and career academy to Albany, to move the National Guard Armory to MCLB and to build ASU's Fine Arts building.
Antonio Screen said that he'll work to improve the poverty rate and beautify the community.
Maurlean Edwards wants to lower the high school dropout rate and retain more good teachers.
"There's tremendous power in unity and working together and our delegation has worked together just unbelievably well," said Ealum.
"Every time I find a problem I'm going to make sure it is my job and duty to fix that problem," explained Screen.
"This race is not about dollars and cents. It's about common sense," said Edwards.
There is no Republican opposition, so the winner in the Democratic primary will take office.
