ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Dougherty District Attorney is not happy a woman accused of murdering her young grandson is free on bond.
Symanthia Price is charged with murder and child cruelty in the 2014 death of 10-year-old Brandon Price.
She posted bond yesterday.Prosecutors opposed any bond, but Judge Stephen Goss granted Price a bond of $50,000 dollars Friday.
Following her indictment in February, Price failed to surrender for five days.
"We think she's a flight risk because of the behavior demonstrated before she was brought into custody last time," said Albany DA Greg Edwards. "We made those representations to the court in the hearing on this issue. But again like I said it's up to the judge."
No trial date for Price has been set.
