SUMTER CO., GA (WALB) -

First graders received a fun reward for all their hard work at school Wednesday. Students jumped on five different moon bounces and got free food.

Police officers from Americus grilled out the hot dogs and hamburgers. The students that exemplified their STAR behavior got to enjoy the day.

“They've got a lot to look forward to. They love being outside, and we've been building up to this day for quite some time,” said Assistant Principal Nancy Cochran.

School leaders specifically thanked Brittany Jackson, a mother who provided all the food.

They hope every student achieves STAR behavior next year.
