CAMILLA, GA (WALB) -

You can help some South Georgia high school students win a contest helping solve social problems with mobile apps.

Tuesday, students at Westwood Schools presented "Mad about Mattering" apps they helped develop.
12 apps were narrowed to 5 and judged by experts from companies such as Amazon, Google, and Microsoft.
The final apps are geared toward stopping self-harm, sex-trafficking, animal abuse, poverty, and suicide.

"It went incredibly well,” said Vicki Davis, Westwood Schools IT Director. “It's amazing to see students from five different schools presenting and going on mic and handling it off seamlessly to one another. It took a whole lot of work. It looked a lot easier than it was, but I was very proud of all of the students and all they had to overcome because these students are never in class at the same time."

Online votes will play a role in picking the winner which will be announced Thursday.
Online voting ends Wednesday at 3:45.
