Over 100 people showed up recently to raise awareness for domestic violence, by walking a mile in high heels.
That's hard enough to do when you're accustomed to wearing high-heels, but these guys aren't, and their feet were likely telling on them for a couple of days afterward.
Lily Pad 'SANE' Center Executive Director Mary Martinez said that the event is the primary fundraiser for the organization, whose mission is to educate and provide services to victims of sexual violence.
"It really shows victims, and families that you know although these guys are tough, they are willing to walk a mile in someone else's shoes," said Martinez.
It's too bad that an event like this is necessary. But until there are no more victims of sexual violence, we need people to pay attention, and take action to help.
We salute all those who participated in the "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" event.
