ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Some travelers waited hours to get through security at Hartsfield Jackson International Airport in Atlanta on Monday.
Travelers passing through Southwest Georgia Regional said that quick security service is one of the advantages of flying from Albany.
The Transportation Security Administration has been warning about long lines because they're understaffed and more people are traveling.
Frequent flier Paul Norton said that he deals with long lines in larger airports all over the country.
"People were in the lines for the first class passengers, and they weren't moving, and there was just no control of what was going on. And I've seen many people miss flights whether it be in Atlanta whether it be in Tampa, Dallas. It's just a mess," said Norton.
The situation in Atlanta was worse on Monday because one of three checkpoints in the domestic terminal was closed as new equipment was being installed.
