MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Mothers and their sons had a chance to bust a move with the local law enforcement.

Moultrie Police hosted their third annual dance. Participants enjoyed food, drinks, light shows, and a live DJ.

Police said events like these are a great way show citizens that interactions with police don't always have to be bad.

"We need to not only let the children know what function law enforcement has and it's not always a bad thing, but in addition, to let them know we are here to help and provide any kind of service that we can,” said Deputy Chief Rob Rodriguez with the Moultrie Police Department.

All proceeds from this event went to the Boys and Girls club.
