ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Police officials are warning south Georgia rental companies to be on the lookout for a man who is targeting them.

Dougherty County Police issued five felony Theft by Conversion warrants for 48-year-old Gregory Florence of Pelham. Investigators say Florence, known as Papa, stole equipment from three rental companies in South Georgia.

Police say he never returned an 18 foot trailer and a John Deere Gator worth close to $16,000, that he rented from Sunbelt Rentals in Dougherty County on April 26.

Officials say he also pulled the same scheme with a trailer, mower, and tractor from A & S Rental in Moultrie, and a mower from Potter Motors in Albany.

"Put a warning out to any of the rental companies. If he comes in there and tries to rent any property, our suggestion would be not to rent it to him.  Of course we can't make them do that, but more than likely they won't get their property back," said DCP Lt. Chad Kirkpatrick.

Florence is 6'3", 300 pounds, and is known to frequent Albany.

Florence namely frequents County Line Road, Moultrie, Pelham, and may possibly be in Tallahassee.

Anyone with information on Papa is asked to call CrimeSTOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
