The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office have been investigating burglaries on Bemiss Road and Knights Academy Road. They found that items from one of the burglaries had been sold to local precious metal buyers.
Those items were recovered and identified by the victims of each burglary. They connected the items to Kenneth Isaac McKinney, 51, and arrested him Wednesday, around 10:30.
They found evidence linking him to other burglaries, including one in Lanier County.
Detectives are working with other law enforcement agencies to see if McKinney is connected to any additional thefts or burglaries.
McKinney is Lowndes County Jail and has appeared in the Lowndes County Magistrate Court for an arraignment hearing.
Sheriff Chris Prine is encouraging anyone with information about Kenneth McKinney or these incidents to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 671-2950; or 671-2985 or on-line at www.lowndessheriff.com.
