ALBANY, GA (WALB) - You can check out artwork helping to preserve history.
Thursday night, the Albany Area Arts Council announced winners of its 8th annual Historic Preservation Commission Art Competition.
18-year-old Hadden Kelley won the student category.
He used colored pencils and water colors to create the Old Albany Theatre on cardboard.
Robert Rhymes is the adult winner for his photographs of the Albany Heights building.
"I went to the theatre and it really just evoked a really powerful emotions in me about preserving our history and especially theatre," said Hadden Kelley, Student winner.
"I've taken a course at Darton and this is the result of my course and I'm really thankful to Abby Ballard who is my instructor," said Robert Rhymes, Adult Winner.
37 artists entered 43 pieces of art.
You can see the exhibit at the Arts Council through the end of the month.
