ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

With all those hailstorms in Albany this week, you may want to check your car and home for damage.

Albany State Farm agent Steve Perrine says he hasn't had many calls about hail damage this week.
Perrine says if you think you suffered any damage it's best to go ahead and call your insurance company and get an expert to check it out.
A lot of roofing contractors offer free inspections.

"If the hail storm was not a big deal or if it was small hail and the homeowner wants to get it checked out before they file a claim, they can call us or they can call a roofing contractor to do an inspection and then the roofer will report as to their findings,” said Steve Perrine, State Farm Insurance Agent.

Perrine says newer shingles will withstand a hailstorm better than older ones that are more rigid.
