DOUGLAS, GA (WALB) -
Coffee County deputies and Douglas police put a stop to a recent scam operation.
After weeks of investigation and surveillance, they learned that a large number of phone calls were made at the 900 block of Madison Avenue in Douglas to victims throughout the US, in an attempt to take payment for debts not owed.
Another operation was discovered on the 800 block of Madison Avenue.
Evidence was collected and employees involved were interviewed.
Police expect numerous indictments in the investigation.
They warn that people should never give a caller their personal information.
