CAMILLA, GA (WALB) -

The city attorney in Camilla says he doesn't think a judge will let a recall effort against four city council members go forward.

Tommy Coleman says the accusations made by a community group behind the effort are untrue.
Right now, both sides are waiting for a judge to be assigned to decide whether recall elections should be ordered.

"A local judge won't hear it,” said Tommy Coleman, Camilla City Attorney. “It has to be a judge from a joining or some other circuit somewhere else because of the politics of it. The administrative judge for the district appoints a judge and gets one to agree to do it. They'll set a hearing date."

Coleman also says the group only had sufficient signatures against two of the four council members they're trying to remove out of office.
