A truck carrying eleven, 275-gallon totes of base colorant dye overturned on the Bainbridge Highway 84 bypass near the Shotwell Street exit.
According to officials, around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, the driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle causing the truck to overturn and spill approximately 42,035 pounds of liquid.
The dye spilled onto the highway and the median near the exit.
Officers working the scene blocked the sewer drains and contained the liquid.
The driver was not injured in the accident.
